Within the framework of Croatia’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the e-IRG Secretariat and the University of Zagreb, the University Computing Centre (SRCE) with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, initially planned to organize a physical events in Zagreb, including an e-IRG Workshop.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the workshop event is replaced by virtual one that will be held as a series of webinars on same days as initially planned in period from 25-26 May 2020.
About the workshop
It will be held in a form of three webinars, each addressing one of the key challenges of e-Infrastructures within the new ERA:
- future skills
- partnerships
- and FAIR data.
The e-IRG workshops attract policy makers and funders, the e-Infrastructure providers and researchers on both the national and the European level and provide a platform for information exchange and networking of participants.
Each webinar will bring 3-4 presentation of the topics followed by an interactive Q&A part.
Programme
First webinar will be held on 25 May 2020 under the name “Future skills in the new European Research Area” which will address the context of skills development in the changing European e-Infrastructure landscape and its effects on national and regional employment situation. This topic is also one of two Croatian priorities in area of Research.
On the second day, 26 May 2020 there will be two webinars: “Empowering the e-Infrastructure partnerships in ERA” with a focus on importance of partnerships in the European e-Infrastructure area followed by “Making the data and services FAIR” which will emphasis and address the importance of data sharing without constraints to users/researchers and an open approach of science.
As a part of 1st webinar, an NI4OS-Europe project’s training program and activities presentation is scheduled.
