University of Banja Luka organised event focusing on the benefits of Open Science for researchers

“What is the real benefit for researchers from Open Science and NI4OS – Europe project?” This was the focus of the presentation held on March 2, 2021, during the online event organised by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Banja Luka. The event was addressed to employees of scientific institutions who work or intend to work on scientific research projects, especially projects funded by the European Commission.

Participants were given a practical example of the use of open data, open source tools, and open scientific research infrastructures in order to create a system for automatic classification of satellite images. 

A practical presentation of the workflow and the way of using open science was presented, with the aim of making it easier for scientists to engage in science. In addition, the basic principles of responsible research and innovation are presented, their interrelationship, as well as the importance of their application for scientific research projects.

The event focus was on five key thematic units within responsible research and innovation, namely ethics, gender equality, science education, open access and public involvement. The event closed with a presentation on the opportunities for collaboration within NI4OS – Europe.
