Practical metadata applications: Ontologies and semantic tools for data management

Posted on February 9, 2023February 9, 2023 by Judit Éva Fazekas Paragh

The NI4OS-Europe Metadata and Semantics Working Group has been set up and serves as an activity dedicated to the support of consortium partners’ activities in metadata, ontologies and semantics. The WG has worked to spread awareness on new tools available and increase capacity and best practices adoption by collaborating with other projects, organising events, getting feedback and advice on special issues.

The Metadata and Semantics WG organises the last workshop before the NI4OS-Europe project completes its contractual obligations. The event will take place online on Tuesday 15th February at 09.00 CET. The focus is on practical application of ontologies and semantics for data management with presentations spanning from detailing ontologies and standard for the description and the integration of research data, to informing about available frameworks for semantic knowledge integration, as well as techniques for mapping and transforming data for integrations.

The WG welcomes all consortium partners and other affiliates of their organisation to learn more on the topics and engage in discussions with the invited speakers.

To follow the Metadata and Semantics WG workshop, register here. The event will be held through Microsoft Teams. An email with connection details will be sent out to you one day before the event.
